Shocking response from UEFA to complaining players – Zafer Newspaper

UEFA President Aleksandr Ceferin reacted to the players who complained about the busy match calendar by saying, “If the number of matches decreases, the salaries also decrease.”

In his statement, Ceferin said, “If we reduce the number of matches, we will have to reduce the salaries. There is no other way. It is always easy to attack FIFA and UEFA, but the solution is simple. If you play less, you earn less money. The ones who should complain are the factory workers who earn 1000 euros a month .” he said.

They get 500 times the salary

Continuing his statements, the UEFA President said, “It is not only the top level players who are affected by the match calendar. For example, the players of my country Slovenia play matches as intensely as Real Madrid football players, but they receive 500 times less salary. The decrease in the number of matches also reduces the income of the clubs. With the professional football players' union “We will have to sit down and see what they want. If we reduce the number of matches, we will have to reduce the salaries.” he said.

Football players showed caution in many matches

Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne said in his statement in recent weeks, “The seasons are getting longer. Maybe this season will be normal, but the calendar will become more complicated with the World Cup in 2026. Some players' unions tried to find a solution, but something has changed.” “It didn't happen. UEFA and FIFA don't even care about this. They care about money.” He used the following expressions.

Liverpool's Brazilian glove Alisson Becker said about the match schedule: “Nobody asks the players what they think about the busy fixtures. We are really tired of this situation.” he reacted.

Manuel Akanji, one of the important names of the defense in Manchester City, said, “FIFA and UEFA are constantly increasing the match schedule. You also need to think about the players. We may work hard, but we are also human beings. We also have a life. At this rate, I will quit football at the age of 30.” .

He had threatened a strike

Rodri, another star of Manchester City, said that they might go on strike and said, “I think we are close to it. This is the general opinion of the football players. If it continues like this, we will have no other option. This is an issue that worries us. We are the ones who suffer!” made the statement.

Nobody cares about the players

Real Madrid Coach Carlo Ancelotti, in his statement in April last season, said, “They say I give the players a lot of leave, but we have only had 8 days off in the last 4 months. You must accept that we play a match every 3 days. UEFA, FIFA, La Liga, no one cares about the players. There are too many matches, something needs to change.” he said.

Support for strike

Upamecano, on the other hand, asked Rodri, who previously played for Manchester City, about the “Strike”: “Are you ready to go on strike to protest the current calendar?” To the question: “Why shouldn't we go on strike? Yes, it can happen. There are too many matches. I hope the authorities will understand us one day.” he replied. Earlier, apart from Rodri, another Spanish player, Aymeric Laporte, said, “The fixtures are very intense. We play too many matches. We can only prevent this by striking.” he said.
