Gazo announces the featurings of his project and it’s… varied

After having made people talk when revealing the cover of his album where we can see a ram, Gazo continues the teasing ofAPOCALYPSE and announces his many guests. Offset, Orelsan, Jul, Morad, Yamê, La Mano 1.9, Fally Ipupa, the list is long and above all ultra eclectic, promising commercial success which is almost beyond doubt.

But what does this tracklist really say about the album? Already, Gazo doesn't, but really doesn't want to screw up his first album. After the successes of his mixtapes DRILL FR et KMTthe rapper inevitably feels the pressure of the famous “first album” (pressure which will be renewed for the second album, etc.) and therefore shields his project with big names in their respective fields.

With these featurings, the ambition is almost to reach the stars, being able to count on star-studded names who will each attract a different audience. International with Morad and Offset or even with Yamê, a rising star straddling genres and whose listeners are certainly not the same as his. The commercial objective is therefore obvious, especially when we know Gazo's status as an established artist. A double-edged objective which can, certainly be a success in the charts, but lack artistic brilliance and musical unity.

However, these choices are not completely devoid of logic. Yamê and Gazo have already been seen together, just the same with Orelsan and Skread, Jul is an artist who has left his mark on him and who has been following him for a long time, Offset is the American touch of the album (a music video also seems to be in preparation ), as for La Mano, it is implacably logical. An explosive mixture like Gazo who is open to collaborations like the one already revealed with a certain Adèle Castillon. The artist has a clear desire to expand his audience and evolve his music and this guest list on APOCALYPSE corroborates this idea.
