Bérénice Bejo is a renowned actress. Her career, which spans nearly two decades and around fifty films, has made her one of the best-known figures in French cinema. A few months after the release of “Under the Seine” on Netflix, she is starring in her first solo performance: “The people of Bilbao are born wherever they want” at the Théâtre Marigny in Paris. The play, directed by Johanna Boyé, is directly taken from the novel of the same name by Maria Larrea. “It's a difficult exercise: who am I to think that I will manage to interest 300 people for 1h30? But I realize that I take them into my story with me.” This type of performance is a first for the actress, who had until then had very few roles in the theater.
The story of this novel is particularly close to his heart. The author and actress share a common family history. Both are the daughters of parents who had to flee their country of origin because of the dictatorship and settle in France. Argentina for Bejo and Spain for Larrea. “We don't realize how hard it is to leave a country” souligne Bérénice Bejo.
Born in Buenos Aires, she emigrated to France with her parents at the age of three. “France is a welcoming country which must be proud of the people it has welcomed.” She feels a particular recognition for France, which this almost tailor-made role allows her to explore in depth: “Every night when I say that I'm here at home, it's like I want to send a message to the 300 people in the room.”

Bérénice Bejo is joined in the second part of the show by Sébastien Thoen. The actor comes to present his new series “L’Agence Tourisme” with Baptiste Lecaplain and Gérard Jugnot. The program, presented in the form of a travel magazine, offers a selection of original activities to do in different European cities. Humor is obviously essential, so Sébastien Thoen suggests “a breakup weekend in Seville, for example.” The columnist is particularly happy with the duo of actors who accompanies him; Baptiste Lecaplain whom he has known for many years and Gérard Jugnot whom he considers “Father Fouras of comedy.”
