The elected Mupes evokes suspicions of fictitious jobs, embezzlement of public funds and concealment. According to her, Michaël Delafosse must explain himself.
The town hall of Montpellier was the subject of a search carried out by the judicial police this Thursday, November 14. At the heart of this operation: human resources problems, absenteeism and others, highlighted during the report of the regional chamber of accounts dated June 2023, which notably noted “irregularities“.
“Two separate cases”
But, according to the elected opposition member, LFI Alenka Doulain, these could be much more serious issues. She mentions “two separate cases which raise serious questions of governance. The first case concerns allegedly fictitious jobs, namely nearly 8% of the town hall's payroll.” She continues: “The second investigation would target the remuneration through a complex arrangement of the former chief of staff of Michaël Delafosse. The financial magistrates would question the legality of this arrangement which could be qualified as embezzlement of public funds and concealment.“
