Radio audiences, the stars of the morning: Nagui on Inter stronger than Julien Courbet on RTL, Pascal Praud progresses on Europe 1, Alain Marschall and Olivier Truchot save RMC

How are the stations doing in the morning? After the radio morning shows, Puremédias analyzes the scores of the morning stars. Let’s get the ball rolling with Julien Courbet. Since the start of the school year, the host of “It can happen to you” has lost an hour of airtime on RTL. Between 10 a.m. and noon, the anti-scam program mobilized an average of 916.000 auditors over the period September-October 2024, i.e. 91.000 less than last school year (1.07 million). Over the eight quarter-hour period of its new slot, the show, partially co-broadcast on M6, exceeded the threshold of one million listeners from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. This is not the case for any quarter of an hour today.

The results are no better for “12/14” played by Éric Brunet and Céline Landreau. In detail, “RTL Midi”, broadcast between 12 p.m. and 1 p.m., provides an average of 663.000 listeners compared to 753,000 a year earlier (– 90.000). Between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., “The listeners have the floor” no longer convinces that 502.000 listeners, or 59.000 less than last year.

Julien Courbet and RTL ahead of Nagui and Inter between 11 a.m. and noon

Competition rages between RTL and France Inter in the morning. “Great good to you”, played by Ali Rebeihi from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., responded to the concerns of daily life in 925.000 listeners between September and October 2024 (frontally, Julien Courbet mobilizes 951,000 listeners). With a gain of 105,000 listeners compared to the start of the 2023/2024 season, the program's audiences are in good shape.

We observe this same upward trend with “The Original Band”, listened to by 1,09 million of listeners between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. (+ 189.000 over one year). Between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m., Nagui, followed by 980.000 listeners on average (+ 204.000 listeners over this hour), creates the feat and is ahead – over the entire slot – Julien Courbet and his 881,000 listeners on RTL. An additional performance, Inter's late morning program reaches a million listeners from 11:45 a.m., a quarter of an hour earlier than last season at the same time. The peak audience for “The Original Band” reached new heights with up to 1.33 million listeners attending between 12 p.m. and 12:15 p.m. (+142,000 compared to last year's peak). Half an hour later, “The Game of 1,000 Euros”, presented by Nicolas Stoufflet, has 1.65 million listeners thinking (+55,000 over one year).

“The big mouths” saves the RMC wave

On a bad slope, RMC can count on “Les grandes bouches”. The show, presented by Alain Marschall and Olivier Truchot, is the only one in its schedule to progress over a year. And this, every quarter of an hour. Between 9 a.m. and noon, the tandem discussed current events with 607.000 listeners on average (+ 74.000 listeners over one year). The trend is not at all the same for “Estelle midi”. Emission is still a reflex for an average of 246.000 listeners (– 50.000).

On Europe 1, “L'heure des pros”, the CNews show co-broadcast on the station between 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. since January 2024, recruits 187,000 listeners, for an average of 521.000 listeners. A year ago, “Culture Médias”, now broadcast between 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., occupied this slot. The magazine presented by Thomas Isle benefits from listeners' interest in Pascal Praud's interventions. It gains 79,000 listeners, for an average of 323.000. Back at 11 a.m. with “Pascal Praud & vous”, the journalist interacts with 291.000 listeners until 1 p.m., or 40,000 more than a year ago.

On France Info, “Les Informeés du Matin”, a program hosted by Salhia Brakhlia and Renaud Dély, shed light on current events in 350.000 listeners every day between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. (– 57.000 listeners over one year).
