Linkin Park revealed as mystery band in Greenville billboard | Entertainment

GREENVILLE — Did you see this social media image of a cryptic billboard?

After people threw out their guesses this week, we finally got our answer this  morning.

It turns out that the billboard is fake — but the concert is not.

Linkin Park, an alternative rock band particularly popular in the early 2000s, will stop in Greenville at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena as part of its world tour, “From Zero,” on May 8, according to a Nov. 14 arena announcement.

It’s the tour’s only concert in South Carolina for one of the best selling artists of all time, with shows planned in , Chicago and Boston.

The two time Grammy-winning band has teased the comeback tour after a seven-year hiatus with mysterious online images of a banner in cities where they will perform, including Wembley Stadium in London and Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt, Germany.

Billboard magazine wrote an article diving into the meaning of the banners.

The images read “Counting To Zero” with the “to” crossed out and replaced by “from.” It’s a nod to Linkin Park’s upcoming album, “From Zero,” which will release on Nov. 15 — its first since “One More Light” in 2017.

Bon Secours posted a picture of the billboard on Nov. 12, causing a stir on social media.

Linkin Park, best known for albums “Hybrid Theory” and “Meteora,” will return to music from seven-year break following the death of their lead singer, Chester Bennington.

In September, the alternative rock band ended their hiatus by releasing a new single, “The Emptiness Machine,” which reached 21 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The band, which produced a hit crossover EP with rapper Jay-Z called “Collision Course,” started their “From Zero” tour in September before adding more 2025 locations this month.

Tickets go on sale Nov. 21. For more information, visit bonsecoursarena.com.
