A Lufthansa Boeing leaving from Buenos Aires (Argentina) heading for Frankfurt (Germany) experienced turbulence while flying over the Atlantic. The incident occurred on the night of Monday to Tuesday. The aircraft was carrying 329 passengers and 19 crew members.
The turbulence was brief and occurred in an intertropical convergence zone, a Lufthansa spokesperson told Reuters. Five passengers and six crew members were injured. The company specifies that these injuries are “mostly minor”.

“The safety of the flight was not compromised at any time,” assured the spokesperson. The plane, a Boeing 747-8, landed safely in Frankfurt late Tuesday morning. Once disembarked from the aircraft, the injured received medical treatment.
