While his first album, The Symphony of Lightninghas just been reissued, Zaho de Sagazan was the guest at the “C à Vous” dinner by Anne-Élisabeth Lemoine, Wednesday November 13, alongside Gilles Lellouche. Questioned by Anne-Élisabeth Lemoine and her columnists, the 24-year-old artist spoke about the euphoria that her tour gives her, but also about the difficulty of the interview exercise which sometimes requires personalities to deliver on intimate subjects. “During promotional weeks, you can feel like you're going crazy when you talk about yourself all day,” she joked.

“I have always been able to paint on the walls”

However, the author-composer and performer did not hesitate, a few minutes later, to comment on a video sequence in which she opens the door to her childhood home, located in Saint-Nazaire, in Loire-Atlantique. “A baroque universe, populated by strange creatures,” describes the voice-over. “Her father is a visual artist and the decoration is in his image, a little extravagant,” she continues. As for the Female Revelation of the 39th Victoires de la Musique, it designates in turn the living room, “the little cabin where [elle] slept” and finally “dad’s workshop”. And proudly announce: “This is where I grew up”.

Back on the set of “C à Vous”, Zaho de Sagazan agrees when Anne-Élisabeth Lemoine describes her family home as an artists’ residence. “It invites creativity to have a place so free of expression. I'm very lucky to have been born into this because I was never given any limits in terms of expression. I have always been able to paint on the walls, play loud music.” And to conclude: “Now, we are even doing our artist residencies at home.” Indeed, it is this universe which served as a studio for the reissue of The Symphony of Lightning.
