Woillez high school in -sur-Mer evacuated due to bomb threat

Significant emergency resources (firefighters, police) were deployed this Thursday morning in front of the Eugène-Woillez high school in -sur-Mer. The 1,000 students were evacuated around 10:45 a.m. for a “bomb threat” according to Mayor Pierre Ducrocq while management mentions “an incident“, it is a gas bottle which was discovered in a room by the principal according to the Pas-de- prefecture. The high school students were directed towards the town ramparts before being placed in custody. The shelter in the Rheinberg room next to the town hall The students of the Notre-Dame private school and the Sainte-Austreberthe college which are near the high school were also made safe.

An exercise then an alert

Coincidentally, this Thursday morning the teachers toured the rooms of the establishment for an exercise on the discovery of a suspicious package. It was during this exercise that the Headmaster found the gas bottle in a room; the deminers quickly intervened to resolve the doubt. Classes are canceled this Tuesday, parents have been invited to come pick up their child.

False Airplane Alert

In Avion, the Picasso high school was also evacuated this Thursday morning after a hostage-taking alert in a class and a bomb threat. 500 students were confined at 11 a.m., the perimeter was secured, but this Thursday noon the doubts were resolved. A high school student was arrested, the call came from his cell phone.
