“We have to be satisfied with this result for certain reasons”

The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon were held to a draw by the Braves Warriors of Namibia in a match counting for the 5th day of the qualifiers for the Morocco 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Already qualified, the Indomitable Lions drew 0-0 at the Orlando Stadium in Johannesburg.

After the match, national coach Marc Brys raised a number of points to explain the Lions’ draw.

“We have three major injuries. Zambo Anguissa who stayed with his newborn, Bryan Mbeumo and Carlos Baleba. I’m not looking for excuses but if I have to have an excuse, it’s about how we prepared. […] For the match, I referred to set pieces because there was no time to prepare a tactic […] For Yaoundé so far we have had 9 hours of time and that is unacceptable. It’s true we always want to win every match but we have to be satisfied with this result for certain reasons,” said national coach Marc Brys.

After this draw, the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon will prepare for the 6th and final meeting counting for the qualifiers for the Morocco 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The match against Zimbabwe will be played on November 19 at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium in Yaoundé.
