After Valencia, the Malaga region was hit this Thursday by heavy flooding in Spain.

Heavy rains caused flooding in the Spanish city of Malaga, whose province was placed on red alert by the national weather agency.

Authorities sent a phone alert Tuesday evening asking people to stay home, closed schools for the day and canceled sporting events such as the 2024 Billie Jean King Cup.

This heavy precipitation will continue over the next few hours, during the day tomorrow, for a good part, before this depression moves towards Portugal. But the authorities are really fearing the next few hours, because several rivers could burst their banks, particularly around the Malaga region.

A new risk of flooding which will not appease the anger of the victims. “An anger which is still extremely strong, even if it must be said that during these new floods, the alerts were sent very early, sometimes since yesterday. We will have to watch tomorrow, because the president of the community of Valencia will speak before the regional Parliament to report on the management of this crisis. He has already admitted that there may have been mistakes. It remains to be seen whether all this will calm this immense anger which, I remind you, the victims are still demanding his resignation.“, notes our correspondent.
