A tragic anniversary. Several commemoration ceremonies were organized this Wednesday in Paris, in the presence of Prime Minister Michel Barnier and several members of the government, in tribute to the victims of the attacks of November 13, 2015. The tenant of Matignon as well as the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo , attended a ceremony in front of the Bataclan hall. The Ministers of Justice, Didier Migaud, and of the Interior, Bruno Retailleau, were also present.
On November 13, 2015, terrorist attacks cost the lives of 92 people in this concert hall in the 11th arrondissement of Paris. A minute of silence was observed and wreaths of flowers were placed in front of its entrance, nine years after the night of horror experienced by Parisians.
Michel Barnier and Anne Hidalgo then went to meet the survivors of the attack and their loved ones. “Nine years of trying to figure out how to grieve our losses. Thoughts of your rope companions. And thanks to all those who support us and think of us,” Arthur Dénouveaux, president of the “Life for Paris” association, which brings together many victims and relatives, declared on X.
Earlier in the morning, Anne Hidalgo had also paid tribute to the victims in front of the Stade de France in Saint-Denis (Seine-Saint-Denis), in front of the bar “Le Carillon” and the restaurant “Le Petit Cambodge”, in the 10th district of Paris, whose terraces had been targeted by terrorists.
Another time of tribute and contemplation was held at the town hall of the 11th arrondissement. An “intimate” ceremony, organized by associations of victims of the November 13 attacks.
“We will never forget”, wrote Emmanuel Macron on X, ensuring that November 13 remains “engraved in our memories in letters of pain”. The president paid tribute “to the victims, to the families, to those who gave everything to preserve life”.
In total, the terrorist attacks claimed by the Islamic State organization left 130 dead.
