In Dordogne, 125,000 homes deprived of electricity after an incident on a high voltage line

A brief power outage occurred this Wednesday morning in Dordogne after an incident on a high voltage line. Around 125,000 homes were deprived of electricity, or two thirds of the department.

In Dordogne, two thirds of homes were deprived of electricity this Wednesday, November 13, 2024 in the morning. In question, a « incident » on a very high voltage line, said network manager RTE. “A power cut occurred at 8:03 a.m. in Dordogne, with impact on the entire department. 125,000 households are affected. The incident follows a technical problem in an electrical substation, said RTE Sud Ouest in a message published on X.

An incident on a 225,000 volt high voltage line

Around 10 a.m., the power supply was “fully recovered” in the area after “rapid intervention” technicians from RTE, specified to theAFP the manager.

The incident occurred on a 225,000 volt high voltage line which supplied power to the entire department.
