for its return, the cult show receives a staggering number of applications

Almost 20 years since its last broadcast on TF1, Bigdil will return to television but on the antennas of RMC Story. The show has also received an impressive number of applications for its return.

After more than twenty years of absence, the legendary show The Bigdil is preparing to make its big comeback on RMC Story, and the least we can say is that the enthusiasm is there! The channel announced that it had been overwhelmed by an impressive number of applications from fans who hope to participate in this new version of the emblematic program of the 2000s. Worn by Vincent Lagaf' from 1998 to 2004, The Bigdil had captivated millions of viewers, becoming a cult show that combined humor, games and performances. Since the announcement of its return in 2025, the game seems to have generated exceptional enthusiasm.

According to RMC Story, no fewer than 17,000 player applications were received in just six weeks! And that's not all: around 4,000 other people also applied to watch the filming as spectators, thus rekindling the nostalgia of an entire generation. With a set currently being assembled, the channel plans to begin recordings on November 18. The team hopes to recreate the crazy atmosphere that made the program successful, while adapting to the expectations of the public which has changed significantly over the years.

“We are going to keep the main lines” announces Vincent Lagaf

Vincent Lagaf', who will take over the reins of the show with his virtual sidekick Bill, promised that The Bigdil would be as faithful to the original show as possible. “We’re going to keep the main lines”he confided, insisting on his wish to transmit the same spirit to new generations “I want the new generation to watch the show with their parents.” Always full of self-deprecation, Lagaf' jokes about the passing of time, claiming to have taken “20 years in the mouth” but is more than ever ready to relaunch Bigdil with the same energy.

If Bill's return was a condition for the host, he nevertheless agreed that certain things had to evolve “I no longer know if today, you necessarily have to have beautiful girls everywhere. The world has changed, mentalities have changed.” A choice in line with the evolution of public mentalities and expectations, for a show which intends to remain faithful to its heritage while adapting to current times.
