The Royal Moroccan Football Federation announced today, Tuesday, that the national team coach, Walid Regragui, summoned Hellas Verona midfielder Reda Belhiane to replace the absence of Fiorentina player Amir Richardson due to injury.
The university explained, in a statement published on its website, that player Richardson suffered the injury during the training sessions that the “Atlas Lions” took part in at the beginning of this week at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Salé.
Belhayan, 20 years old, played 11 matches this season with his Italian team, during which he provided two assists, in his second season in the Italian League, coming from Nice, France.
Walid Regragui had summoned 26 players in preparation for the national team’s matches against Gabon on November 15 in Franceville and Lesotho on November 18 on the grounds of the Compound of Honor in Oujda.
These two matches fall within the fifth and sixth rounds of the (Group B) qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations, which will be held between December 21, 2025 and January 18, 2026 in Morocco.
