It was on the slope of the departmental road, a few steps from the Indre, in Monts, that a relative of the missing woman made the terrible discovery.
Around 4 p.m., the lifeless body of Lilou Fontenille, 64, was found “half submerged below a ditch” located on the outskirts of Moulin Island, Tuesday November 12, 2024. Her bike, on which she was regularly seen in the village, was also recovered nearby, rue des Ponts, by gendarmerie divers.
The criminal trail dismissed
According to the first elements brought to our attention, the military ruled out this Tuesday evening the intervention of a third party in the death of Lilou Fontenille. Once the criminal trail has been ruled out, the continuation of the investigations entrusted to the community of brigades of Montbazon will have to determine the circumstances of the death. A malaise or an accident would be among the hypotheses studied at the time of publishing these lines, which will have to be confirmed by a doctor from the forensic institute.
Committed to her community
The sixty-year-old had not given any sign of life to her family since the afternoon of October 30 and missed several appointments the following days, notably medical ones. His mobile phone apparently stopped transmitting a little before 5 p.m. that day and there was no concern among those around him, who had reported his disappearance on November 9.
The deceased had recently undergone a gender transition and was known in Monts for her past involvement in the municipal council, in particular, when her name was Patrice Fontenille. Her disappearance leaves behind two children.
