The war has only just begun. Arthur and Aymeric Caron settled their scores via virtual intermediary messages after the France Insoumise MP accused the TF1 host and other personalities of supporting “massacres” and “genocide” in Gaza.
Following this attack, Arthur filed a complaint against the former columnist ofWe are not in bed last weekend. The presenter's two lawyers, François Zimeray and Jessica Finelle, argued in the complaint that Aymeric Caron made comments that “are part of hateful and obsessive rhetoric aimed at initiating an inhumanity trial against several Jewish personalities.”
The host of Friday anything goes then directly attacked his accuser on social networks, the latter writing that Aymeric Caron “defames” him and that he designates him “as a target”.
“Find a single sentence, a single word from me that supports such remarks. You will not succeed,” he said before concluding his message with these words: “Mr. Caron, your speech reeks of anti-Semitism.”
Virulent online exchanges
If justice must rule on this matter, Aymeric Caron did not wait to respond in turn, the deputy reproaching in particular the words and actions of Arthur in recent months.
The MP mentions in his response the remarks made by Arthur who notably denounced “the demonization of Israel” during a tribute organized by the CRIF (Representative Council of Jewish Institutions of France) for the victims of October 7.
Aymeric Caron also criticized Arthur's attitude towards the Science Po students who mobilized to denounce the massacres in Palestine before questioning his support for the Diaspora Defense Force (DDF) association which “openly supports the Israeli army in its action in Gaza” according to his statements.
