During an interview with Paris Match, Kad Merad and Claude Lelouch spoke about their unexpected meeting, shortly before the start of filming. The comedian came across the wife of his future director by chance on a train that he “almost missed”. He says: “I, who am rather shy in life, ended up confiding to him what I would never have dared to say to Claude, that I would dream of one day filming with him”.
