CH Media closes all Today portals – 34 layoffs

The six regional and advertising-financed today portals FM1 Today, Argovia Today, Bärn Today, Pilatus Today as well as Züri Today and 32 Today were discontinued immediately on Tuesday. There are 34 terminations. The reason is the lack of profitability and the lack of perspective, as CH Media reports.

A social plan will be applied for the terminated employees. A further 22 employees could be offered follow-up solutions at CH Media following consultation with the Human Resources Commission.

Donald Trump will reportedly make Marco Rubio secretary of state and Mike Waltz security adviser. Both are considered critics of China. Stephen Miller is to become deputy chief of staff, and Kristi Noem is to become US Secretary of Homeland Security, according to media reports.

Tom Homan has already been chosen as the new “border czar” and Elise Stefanik as the US ambassador to the United Nations.

Chur ex-judge convicted of rape

A former Graubünden administrative judge was found guilty of raping his intern. The Plessur regional court sees it as proven that the man raped his intern, who was 21 years his junior, in December 2021. The court wrote that the victim’s statements were credible.

Brienz GR has to be evacuated

Due to another impending landslide, the residents of the village of Brienz will probably have to leave their homes for several months by Sunday afternoon. The government of the canton of Graubünden promised the town of Brienz emergency aid of half a million francs on Tuesday.
