First negative values this season! Temperatures will gradually drop this week to bring us towards winter values, particularly in the north-east of France. The cause is the formation of a cold drop, which will bring fresh air from eastern Europe.
The real change will take place this Tuesday morning, with minimum temperatures of between 4°C in the Alps and 13°C on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. Even in the afternoon, the maximums will slightly exceed the 10°C mark: only 7°C in Langres (Haute-Marne), 9 in Bourges (Cher) and 10 in Paris…
The cold snap will continue on Wednesday with cooler temperatures than in previous days: the thermometer will display values between -1 and 4°C in most regions despite generally mild skies. When you wake up, it will be only 1°C in Bourg-Saint-Maurice (Savoie) and 3°C in Belfort (Territoire de Belfort). And during the day, the mercury will struggle to exceed 7 or 8°C in most regions, with the exception of the southern quarter of the country.
Negative temperatures will return on Thursday. It should therefore be -2°C in Chaumont (Haute-Marne) in the morning, and 0°C in Belfort (Territoire de Belfort). In the afternoon, they will stagnate, like the day before, around 7 and 8°C in the east, but will rise on the west coast, with 14°C forecast in Brittany. Values of 6 to 11°C are forecast for the northern half and 11 to 18°C for the southern half.
The mercury will remain in the negative on Friday morning in Chaumont (Haute-Marne) for the second day in a row, and the northern half will flirt with 0°C. But the southern half should experience renewed heat. The temperatures will be very mild there with up to 22°C in Ajaccio (South Corsica) like the day before, but also 18 or even 19°C in the Mediterranean arc.
This weekend, temperatures will be around 15°C during the day in the territory, with warmer or colder occurrences in the south and north of the country.
