The first episode of season 3 of “Hippocrates”, which is broadcast this Monday on Canal+, is dedicated to doctors Jean-Marc Norès and Jean Maous. The creator of the series, Thomas Lilti, explained to us the reason for this tribute.
Canal+ kicks off the highly anticipated season 3 of Hippocrates this Monday, November 11. The medical series created by Thomas Lilti is making its comeback on television after more than three years of absence for a new burst of episodes which will see Arben (Karim Leklou), Alyson (Alice Belaïdi), Hugo (Zacharie Chasseriaud), Chloé (Louise Bourgoin) and Olivier Brun (Bouli Lanners) face new situations that are as complex as ever.
While part of the services at Poincaré hospital are closed by decision of the health authorities, caregivers will have to make a choice: respect the rules or disobey to respect their Hippocratic oath.
Who is the first episode dedicated to?
The most observant viewers will not have failed to notice that the first episode of season 3 of Hippocrates is dedicated to Dr Jean-Marc Norès and Dr Jean Maous. Asked about the question, Thomas Lilti told us that it was two doctors, unfortunately deceased, who marked his career.
“Doctor Jean-Marc Naurès was a hospital doctor with whom I worked and who taught me many things. He had a big impact on me. He was very singular. He was a very original character“, he explained to us.
“And Doctor Jean Maous was a general practitioner with whom I had done an internship for six months. He belonged to a bit of another era of medicine. But they both had two things in common.“
“They had immense empathy and they taught me things that I may not have known how to do since I no longer practice medicine, but which is at the heart of my work, is that care is an exchange.”
“We may not be a great doctor, not have incredible encyclopedic knowledge, not be a great medical technician, but if we already accept the idea that speaking, being interested in people, exchanging with them, having empathy, having affect in one's care and in one's relationship with the patient, is already a lot. In any case, it is irreplaceable and essential. They both taught me that. They passed away this year, so it was important for me to put them in the series.”
Catch the first two episodes of season 3 of Hippocrates this Monday, November 11 from 9 p.m. on Canal+. The entire season is already available on the MyCANAL platform.
