The day after a fatal accident, a DIRO agent hit by a motorist, while the lane was closed

A DIRO agent (West roads department) was hit by a vehicle on the RN 165 near Brec'h, in the direction of . He was transported in an emergency to the Bretagne Atlantique hospital center in Vannes. The shock took place in the same area of ​​the tragic accident the previous evening.

A DIRO agent (Western roads department) was hit by a car on the RN 165 near Brec'h, while he was working on foot at the very scene of the tragic traffic accident the previous evening , in which a pregnant woman lost her life.

The accident took place late in the morning, shortly before noon. Eleven firefighters and five engines intervened to help him. The agent was injured in the legs and transported in emergency to the Bretagne Atlantique hospital center in Vannes.

“The section of road was cut for three kilometers, with a diversion, and a motorist forced the blockade” explains Fabrice Robelet, the mayor of Brec'h, “it’s incomprehensible”. The DIRO agent was working on foot at the scene of the accident, “to restore the track”when he was hit by the motorist, who fled.

The motorist was arrested shortly after, according to the mayor of Brec'h, and placed in police custody.

This Sunday evening, on this same portion of the RN 165, a young pregnant woman lost her life in a road accident involving three vehicles. Four other people were injured and taken to hospital. A judicial investigation was opened by the Lorient public prosecutor's office.

The two accidents took place a few hundred meters before the narrowing of the lanes, in place since November 4. In this sector, between Landaul and Brec'h, the DIRO is currently carrying out a vegetation maintenance campaign at the central reservation, until November 22, including weekends. Traffic is only on the right lane, in both directions.
