Should a public holiday be deleted?

Are we going to eliminate a new public holiday? The question appears on the front page of La Dépêche du Midi. For many Toulouse residents, this would be a very bad idea: “Public holidays are still important: I think it's a social achievement and it's difficult to go back on it. There are perhaps other ways of managing things, other ways to find money in public finances in particular”explains a passerby. Everyone here is well aware that the State is in debt. And the measure could bring in more than three billion euros.

Employees have already lost the Pentecost Monday holiday: “We have already given a day for the elderly, perhaps not definitively but making an effort for a while, I am not against”approves a local resident. There would also be another side to the coin. The measure would also have an unfavorable economic impact on restaurateurs and hoteliers.
