It is a historic event that takes place every year. This November 11, Emmanuel Macron commemorated the 106th anniversary of the armistice of 1918 in Paris. For the occasion, the President of the Republic met with other political figures including Prime Minister Michel Barnier and his British counterpart Keir Starmer.
The event was placed “under the sign of Franco-British friendship”. For good reason, this year marks the
120th anniversary of the Entente Cordiale between France and the United Kingdom. After an interview at the Élysée, the three men went to the statue of Georges Clemenceau, that of Winston Churchill and then to the Place de l'Etoile. Emmanuel Macron then laid a wreath on the tomb of the unknown soldier and rekindled the Flame of Memory.
