In Auray, young people pay tribute to the fighters who fell on November 11

A long procession led by the flag bearers went to Place du Général Leclerc, in Auray, at 11 a.m., this Monday, November 11, for the commemoration of the Armistice. About a hundred people were present. The mayor, Claire Masson, was alongside MP Jimmy Pahun, Lieutenant Genin of the Auray gendarmerie, veterans’ associations, Captain Deschamps of the Secours center, as well as students from the Tabarly school.

Tribute to Marc Le Doré

Before laying wreaths at the foot of the monument, Odile Le Doré paid tribute to her father, Marc Le Doré, killed at the age of 30. François Dérrien received the Nation’s Recognition medal with AFN clasp from Division General Martial Imberti, for having fought in Algeria from 1962 to 1963.

The ceremony ended with a reading of the poem “Le dormeur du Val”, by Arthur Rimbaud, by Élias, Calypso, Sacha and Lou, CM2 students at the Tabarly school.

A first tribute was paid at Auray station at 9 a.m. this Monday.
