“From progressive student to public service journalist, catalog of reactions to the election of Trump”

CHRONICLE – Every week, for Le Figaroour columnist takes an ironic look at the news. Today, he draws up a list – not exhaustive – of the emotional reactions which accompanied Donald Trump's victory against Kamala Harris.

The feminist. Kamala Harris' defeat is that of all women. Like Hillary Clinton eight years ago, if she was not elected, it was because of the patriarchy and the glass ceiling. This logic, curiously, does not apply to Marine Le Pen's defeats.

Progressive students. As predicted in a recent column (reality often catches up with fiction), several classes have been canceled at Harvard to allow students to recover from their emotional trauma. Sociologist Musa Al Gharbi, professor at Columbia, says that in 2016, his students, stunned by Trump's victory, stayed in their rooms for a week and stopped (with the administration's consent) doing their homework. and take their exams, shed torrents of tears thinking about the plight of minorities under Trump's mandate.
