Amorim says that Gyokeres will leave Sporting and that Harder will be his successor

Sporting beat Braga, 4-2, this Sunday, November 10, in a game valid for the 11th round of the Liga Portugal Betclic. At the press conference, Ruben Amorim admitted the departure of Viktor Gyokeres and says Conrad Harder will take the Swede’s place

“We can’t go to a place and try to replicate what happened here. The championships are different, I’m not there yet. I don’t know what the team needs more. I don’t know what will happen. Viktor is a special player, Conrad will take his place. I don’t know when. Happy club.”

“New coach? Let’s see, I don’t know when the club will inform. I brought a lot, but I didn’t bring everything. I left some things there that will be delivered later. I have confidence because I believe in the players. I know who the next coach is and I believe in him, I told the players that. That there are little things that will be different, but the person who will be in my place has the same essence. This was already being planned, it was earlier.”

“Not everyone is as lucky as I am. Players have to be very humble, they will go through difficultiesthey have to hold on to each other. Players like Quaresma, who sometimes doesn’t train so well, but sometimes I manage to manipulate him so he doesn’t get lost… Geny… People also know that. We share information with everyone. If the group continues like this, the coach who comes has the characteristics to guide the team to Marquês”, he said, returning to talking about the match.

“I knew that as soon as we scored, we could turn things around. But until the first goal, I felt that we were very stagnant. Lacking emotion, speed, maybe passion. These weeks have been complicated. The players gave a lot on Tuesday. But as soon as we scored a goal, I believed we would be able to turn the result around. This is where I introduced myself, I didn’t really know what to say, where to put my hands”, he concluded.
