Thank you all so much for coming.” These are Jannik Sinner's first words after his debut victory against De Minaur at the ATP Finals, in front of the home crowd in Turin. “For me it's a great honor to be there, it hurt me a lot not to play in Rome, it's even nicer to play here. Last year we came very close, this year we'll see”, adds the world number 1 alluding to the 2023 final lost against Djokovic and with the aim of winning this edition.

On Tuesday Sinner will play against Fritz for the second match of his group. “It will be a very difficult match, he played very well today against Medvedev. He certainly serves better than De Minaur, today I managed to respond very well. Tomorrow I will rest, there will be time to think about it.”
