It was unforgettable! Massa do Galo made Arena MRV the stage for a party never seen before in Brazilian football. There was no lack of emotion and actions to infect the stands in the grand final of the Copa Betano in Brazil. There was a flag on the lawn, a 3D mosaic, little flags, the flags of the Organized Fans and lots of shouting of “I believe!”.
Atlético's bus arrived at the Arena after passing through a special Street of Fire for fans, made under one of the Via Expressa viaducts. Flare, smoke, and the crowd transmitting positive energy to the black and white delegation.
Around 1h30 before kick-off, the Galo flag was unfurled on the Arena MRV lawn. The 105m x 40m flag occupied almost the entire region of the playing field, remembering what the Club did in 1969, when it faced (and defeated) the great Brazilian team that would become three-time world champions.
There was the performance of the Anthem of the Rooster by the musician Podé, a fanatical athlete, in addition to the traditional entrance of Galo Doido. The afternoon of madness continued with a hallucinatory atmosphere as Atlético players entered. At this time, Massa class. The 3D mosaic was soul-stirring. Crazy Rooster appeared in three versions, the one centered with binoculars looking at two Brazilian Cup cups.
Meanwhile, the mosaic of fans – I BELIEVE – with the black and white flags flying in Nossa Casa. Pyrotechnics show making the stadium shake, and even toilet paper being thrown, creating that atmosphere of the fans in decades past. It was unforgettable!
