“I felt like a part of me no longer existed”
A drama that he agrees to tell in A Sunday in the countryside : “I was working on this record and while making this record, I found out that my brother was in a car accident, he got hit. And so, he was put in a coma for 15 days and little by little, when he was brought out of the coma, we saw that at the level of the brain, clinically, there was no longer anyone. It was a real choice to make. Either, we keep him alive at the risk of recovering someone who is no longer the one we knew or letting him go.” They finally decide to let him go but another decision is imposed on them as the singer recounts, with tears in his eyes: “We also had this request from another part of the doctors who said that we could also use certain organs for transplants for other people. I also remember making that decision and thinking, I think it's cool that this helps someone in need and that it helps someone else live better. “
A sudden disappearance which made Emmanuel Moire click: “Until my brother died, I never asked myself the question that I was a twin. It's when I lose him that I realize this. I felt like a part of me no longer existed. It's been a long journey learning to live without my brother. And years later, realize that it is not living without but living with but differently. It will remain a great injury with a lot of suffering.” An injury that he overcomes in particular thanks to music.
