In 2009, Emmanuel Moire was on the rise in his career. His title role in the musical was crowned with success and his first album topped the sales charts. He was then in the middle of preparing his second album, when he was struck by tragedy: “I learned that my brother had a car accident, that he was run over” he explains to Christophe Michalak and Sandrine Bonnaire. “He was put in a coma for fifteen days and little by little, when we brought him out of the coma, we saw clinically in his brain that there was no longer anyone” he explains, very moved. The situation is then critical: “It was a real choice to make: either we keep him alive at the risk of recovering someone we didn't know… or let him go. The choice is difficult“It is with his parents that they consult about his twin.”I am surrounded by my parents and I feel helpless. I am in distress and in pain” he puts it into context. “We decided to let him go” asserts the singer, his eyes clouded with tears.

Like many families faced with this situation, Emmanuel Moire and his parents were questioned about their wish to donate the organs of their deceased. “I think it's cool that it helps someone who needs it” he adds after explaining that he had given their agreement. In addition to mourning, the artist was confronted with another shock: “It's when I lose him that I realize I was a twinbefore I had never asked myself the question. I felt like a part of me no longer existed. It's been a long road learning to live without my brother” relates the one who dedicated a song to him, Be calm. “It will remain a big wound for me” he concedes as he closes the evocation of this painful chapter of his life.
