Delphine Michalak revealed that after the operation, the recovery was very long. “I spent ten days in the hospital and a month and a half at home still in enormous pain.”, she said. But the photographer is aware of how lucky she was. She insisted: “I was very lucky to get through it and have no neurological after-effects.” Subsequently, she wanted to be reassuring about her current state of health. “Now everything is going extremely well, it's ancient history. All I have to do is overcome the fatigue”, she confided full of hope.

She said: “I had a completely unexpected and unexplained bleed from a meningioma (a non-cancerous tumor).” She also explained that this meningioma was discovered and diagnosed “three months earlier thanks to an MRI carried out as part of the follow-up of my migraines”. Christophe Michalak’s wife added: “I thought I would die of pain. They had to operate urgently and cut open my head.”
