Temperatures will gradually drop to bring us towards winter values and this week shows us this well. It should be the scene of the first negative values this season, particularly in the north-east of France. Although there will not be too much rain, showers should nevertheless affect the eastern half of the country, especially at the start of the week.
The days of Friday and Saturday will, however, be much more pleasant, with the mercury rising in the south of the country to approach 20°C in places, and overall sunshine in the country. The maps used below are those from Météo France. They concern the afternoon for each day of the week.
Monday: a short rainy spell in the north of the country
In the south-eastern quarter of the country, the day should be very sunny. In the rest of France, the week will start under still gray skies, with fog over the South-West and the eastern valleys. Over Normandy and Hauts-de-France, a weak rainy spell will circulate from the English Channel.
In the afternoon, these light rains will slowly move towards Brittany, Pays-de-la-Loire, Centre-Val de Loire, Île-de-France and the Grand-Est. After this rain, good clearing periods are expected from Normandy to Hauts-de-France and the Ile-de-France region.
In terms of temperatures, the minimums are between 4 and 15°C with a risk of light frosts in the valleys of the Alps, Jura and Vosges. In the afternoon, except on the Mediterranean edge where the maximums reach 17 to 21°C, it will be a little cooler with 9 to 12°C in the North-East and Center-East, 12 to 15°C in the North-West, 14 to 17°C in the South-West.
Tuesday: a France divided in two
The morning will start with scattered rain, particularly in the north-eastern quarter, as well as in the Alps. The rest of the country will rise under a sky between clouds and clearings with temperatures between 4°C in the Alps and 13°C on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.
In the afternoon, divide France in two: in the West light sunshine, in the East rain, with values between 10 and 15°C. An exception, Tarbes (Hautes-Pyrénées), which could experience some scattered rain during the second half of the day.
Wednesday: falling temperatures but mild weather
The day will start with cooler temperatures than the previous days: the thermometer will struggle to display values above 10°C, with the exception of Cherbourg (Manche), Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales) and Nice (Alpes-Maritimes). ). Elsewhere, expect between 4 and 8°C with generally mild skies, with the sun well hidden behind the clouds. Be careful, a few showers are expected over the Mediterranean arc, mainly between Montpellier (Hérault) and Nice.
In the afternoon, these same rains will shift to the West and could affect an axis going from Montpellier to Perpignan. In the rest of the country, the mercury is not expected to rise and should remain below 10°C, but clearings will be there.
Thursday: a beautiful sunny day, despite the coolness
Negative temperatures are making a comeback. It should therefore be -2°C in Chaumont (Haute-Marne) in the morning, or even 0°C in Belfort (Territoire de Belfort). It could rain in Cherbourg (Manche), Biarritz (Pyrénées-Atlantiques) and Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales), but the rest of France should remain dry.
It was in the afternoon that the sun should shine across the whole of France, with the exception of Perpignan. Temperatures will oscillate between 5°C in Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin) and 22°C in Ajaccio (Corse-du-Sud), with values of 6 to 11°C in the northern half and 11 to 18°C in the southern half.
Friday: under the sun, a return of heat in the southern half
The mercury will remain in the negative in the morning in Chaumont (Haute-Marne) for the second day in a row, and the northern half will flirt with 0°C, but overall, the sky should allow us to see the sun behind the clouds . The southern half will already show increasing values with 13°C in Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) and 16°C in Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales).
And then? The weather is going to be nice and, dare we say, it’s going to be hot. Temperatures will be very mild in the afternoon in the southern half with up to 22°C in Ajaccio (Southern Corsica) like the day before, but also 18 or 19°C in the Mediterranean arc. Clear weather is expected across the entire region, no showers expected for the first time since the start of the week, enough to make you want to get some fresh air!
Next weekend: sunny Saturday, rainy Sunday
The weekend should start with clearings over most of the country, with the exception of the south-eastern quarter, which will be under showers. Temperatures will be around 15°C during the day in the territory, with warmer or colder occurrences in the south and north of the country. On the other hand, Sunday promises to be rainy across the whole of France, from Brittany to Corsica.
