The proposed changes to Football regulation that would ensure clubs cannot be sold to national states will be presented to the House of Lords as legislation returns to Parliament this week. Fair Game, an organization comprised of 34 men’s clubs advocating for a more sustainable approach to managing national sport, has proposed nineteen amendments to the football governance bill.
Other proposals include adding a human rights component to the owners and directors tests, as well as a mandate to disclose the origin of an owner’s funds. The text of the proposed amendment on state ownership states: ‘The bill must exclude the possibility for the owner of a club to be a state or a person or entity controlled by the state.’

Nottingham Forest now sits third in the Premier League table, an achievement that few predicted at the start of the season. Jonathan Wilson believes this success is due to Nuno Espírito Santo finding comfort in his strategy, which—amid all the background turmoil—is not particularly complicated.
The Forest has had the third-lowest possession in the league this season, but that doesn’t hinder their performance. Or at least, it works for them.
