The Moroccan army responds firmly to the Polisario militia’s attack on the “Mahbas” area

The Royal Armed Forces responded firmly and without hesitation to the terrorist attack by the Polisario militia on the Mahbas area this Saturday afternoon, coinciding with the holding of the activities of the third session of the National Festival of the Green March, which takes place from November 9 to 11 to celebrate the recapture of our Sahrawi territories, as this attack did not record any material losses. Or injuries among unarmed citizens, after projectiles fell hundreds of meters from the celebration tent.

The armed forces stationed in the Moroccan desert targeted two military-grade Toyota cars, belonging to the Polisario Front, near the buffer zone bordering the Mahbas community.

On board the two cars were seven members of the separatist front, who tried to escape immediately after launching more than seven projectiles randomly towards the national celebration that brought together hundreds of Moroccan citizens in the aforementioned area.

The response of the Moroccan army, which targeted the two vehicles in which the separatists were on board, was not delayed by a drone that achieved a direct hit, killing three of them, while the rest fled towards Algerian territory, according to available data.

This incident comes a year after the Polisario Front targeted the city of Smara last October, which resulted in four explosions, killing one person and wounding three others with varying injuries, according to what the authorities announced at the time.

In a related context, the Algerian opposition journalist, Walid Kebir, in a post on his personal Facebook page, accused the Algerian military regime of being behind this brutal and cowardly attack.

Kabir stressed in his blog that targeting Moroccan civilians in the safe town of Mahbas now requires condemnation by the international community, noting that “the terrorist Polisario, under orders from the Algerian regime, attacked with missiles the celebrations of the people of Mahbas commemorating the 49th anniversary of the Green March.”
