Former Moroccan international, Hassan Aksabi, died today, Saturday, after suffering from illness, according to what was learned from the Mohammed VI Foundation for Sports Champions.
The deceased, who saw the light in May 1935 in the city of Tangier, began his football career with the “Le Siviana” team in Tangier, before moving to the FUS Rabat team, and then traveled to France to play with the Olympique Nimes team, where he scored 119 goals in 204 matches, which made him… He sits on the list of all-time top scorers for the French team.
Hassan Aksabi, who was president of the Al-Fateh Sports Association of Veterans in Rabat, also played for the Reims Stadium team, and with him he finished as the top scorer in the French championship with 23 goals in the 1961-1962 season, and third with 24 goals in the 1962-1963 season.
He joined the Monaco team in 1963 before returning to Reims the following season, and concluded his career with the Fath Sports Club between 1965 and 1970, starting his training experience with the Rabat team before moving on to coach, in particular, the Hassania Agadir and Ittihad Zemmouri teams of Khemisset.
Aksabi marked his name in the history of French football by occupying 11th place in the ranking of the best scorers in the French League of all time, scoring 173 goals in 293 matches in the tournament. He was also crowned with the Mohammed V Cup in 1962 and the Throne Cup in 1967. He carried the national team jersey between 1960 and 1970. .
