On the pages of La Gazzetta dello Sport, Arrigo Sacchiformer Milan coach, commented on Paulo Fonseca’s decision to start Francesco Camarda tonight against Cagliari:
“I say right now that Fonseca is right to give Camarda a chance, regardless of the result that will come. He is right for two main reasons. The first: starting a young player, whose qualities are appreciated and whose potential for improvement is clear, sends a message for the future. The second: by doing this, the coach shows he has full control of the team and is not influenced by big names.”
On Francesco Camarda, Sacchi said:
“There is one thing I want to emphasize. The coach has the right, and in my opinion the duty, to show his courage, as Fonseca does by including Camarda in the starting lineup. However, the club must support him. At this specific moment, the backing of the club is crucial: the coach must feel protected and, above all, must sense the trust of the environment.”
