  • Borussia Dortmund lost 3-1 away to Mainz on matchday 10 of the Bundesliga.
  • Masters Leverkusen conceded the late equalizer in Bochum and can no longer win in the league.
  • Leader Bayern Munich beat newly promoted St. Pauli 1-0 without any shine.

BVB cannot get rid of its weakness away from home in the Bundesliga. Mainz 05 (from 80th with Silvan Widmer) suffered their third defeat away from home in a row. Dortmund, who competed without injured Nati goalie Gregor Kobel, lost 3-1.

The disaster had already begun in the 27th minute when captain Emre Can was sent off for a rude foul. Just 9 minutes later, a header from Jae-Sung Lee made it 0-1. Because he committed an unnecessary foul in his own penalty area 4 minutes later, Dortmund suddenly equalized with a penalty from Serhou Guirassy.

In the women’s Bundesliga, Eintracht Frankfurt crushed Cologne, who were still without a win, 8-0. The Swiss offensive player Géraldine Reuteler stood out as a double goal scorer. In the 40th minute, the Nati player made it 3-0 and in stoppage time she was responsible for the final point. Thanks to the three points, the Hessians stay close to the top of the table.

Almost with the half-time whistle and almost 10 minutes after the break, Dortmund’s poor defense allowed themselves to be caught by Bo Henriksen’s team. Jonathan Burkhard (45th) and Paul Nebel (54th) ensured the ultimately deserved home win.

Bochum celebrates late with a new coach

Bundesliga bottom team Bochum scored their second point of the season. In the first game under the leadership of new coach Dieter Hecking, VfL managed a remarkable 1-1 draw against champions Bayer Leverkusen in front of their own team. The celebrated equalizer only came in the 89th minute when Koji Miyoshi caught Bayer goalie Lukas Hradecky from close range in the near corner.

Leverkusen, who took the lead in the 18th minute through Patrik Schick, are still not making any real progress. For the team around Nati captain Granit Xhaka (played through), it was the third point division in the Bundesliga in a row.

Musiala decides with a long shot

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich achieved their fifth success de suite across all competitions. A mini-victory against newly promoted St. Pauli was enough for the league leaders to gain another 3 points. Jamal Musiala made the difference with a fantastic long-range shot (22′).
