The organization of the Giro d’Italia wants to get ‘the big four’ classification riders to the start in 2025. RCS, the organizer, would put a lot of effort into convincing Tadej Pogacar, Jonas Vingegaard, Primoz Roglic and Remco Evenepoel. The presentation of the course will be postponed to January. Next Tuesday, November 12, was a date that cycling enthusiasts had indicated in their agenda. The presentation of the Giro route was on the programme, but the organization announced at the end of October that the event was cancelled. No reason for the cancellation was given.
Cycloweb published that day that due to political developments it is uncertain whether the Great Departure can indeed continue in Albania. This could be a reason for the cancellation of the presentation. However, the RCS announced through general manager Paolo Bellino that there is ‘no change in the plans’.
