An 84-year-old woman was the victim of an attack in Greifensee on Thursday. Two men posing as craftsmen spoke to the elderly woman in front of her house shortly after 12 p.m. They convinced the woman to let them into their house, where they forcibly locked her in a room. The perpetrators escaped with cash and jewelry worth tens of thousands of francs.
Despite the threatening situation, the senior citizen remained uninjured and was able to free herself after some time. She immediately alerted the police, who launched a search for the perpetrators. However, the search has so far been unsuccessful.
The two men are said to have fled in a dark station wagon with AI license plates. On the same day, they apparently also tried to break into another house in the Ocht/Grafenwies district, but failed.
Search and appeal for witnesses
The Zurich cantonal police are asking the public for help. Information about the perpetrators or the vehicle is urgently requested. The police hope that the public’s support will help them catch the perpetrators quickly.
