no more departments on orange alert, but showers expected around the Mediterranean and Corsica

Saturday, November 9 in the morning, Météo-France downgraded Hérault to yellow vigilance, the last department affected by an episode of strong storms accompanied by showers which affected the Gulf of Lion. Neighboring Aude, for its part, was downgraded to yellow vigilance around midnight.

Meteorologists predict “still a few residual showers around the Mediterranean on Saturday”as well as “locally intense showers” which will develop until Sunday morning on the eastern coast of Corsica, with accumulations of between 80 to 120 mm and likely to worsen the level of vigilance. The north of Corsica is already on yellow alert “floods” et “storms”.

According to the Météo-France press release published shortly after 6 a.m., 80 to 100 mm of precipitation could be observed in a very localized manner in Hérault, on the coast between Agde and Sète, during this episode of strong storms.

Furthermore, Bouches-du-Rhône, Var, Corse-du-Sud as well as Landes and Pyrénées-Atlantiques are placed on yellow alert for Saturday due to thunderstorms.
