The measure must soon be proposed to the Sytral council. If it is accepted – which there is no doubt – all children under 10 will be able to travel for free on the TCL network as well as those of Cars du Rhône and Libellule. This would represent 1.1% of total ticket sales.
“Making daily life easier for families”
For the moment, only children under 4 years old do not pay TCL.
“This measure aims to make daily life easier for families by reducing their transport expenses, while making travel simpler and more accessible for family outings, activities and leisure activities, particularly on weekends,” said Bruno Bernard.
According to him, the cost for the entire network is around 3 million euros.
