Anthony Delon unveils a poignant video of Alain Delon: “I hope I die…”

Alain Delon had chosen the day of his death. This Friday, November 8, the actor who died on August 18, would have celebrated his 89th birthday. While a concert in tribute to the Cheetah takes place that same day, Anthony Delon wanted to mark this day. The son of the late actor published a never-before-seen video of his father on Instagram. On it, Alain Delon appears in a black and white image in his house in Douchy. The actor already seems weakened, a little elsewhere, but takes care to answer his child's questions. The latter also talks to him about the importance of their Thursday meeting, a tradition that the two men have established to exchange ideas. “I hope I die on a Thursday”, then declares the actor The swimming poolcausing his son to laugh. “I hope so too. Are you just saying that for fun?” his interlocutor then asks.

“No, no, no. It would piss me off to leave on a Wednesday. Let me know.”adds the actor with a smile. “Hopefully it will be a Thursday,” concludes Anthony Delon. In the caption of the video, he gives more explanations about the scene that he decided to share. “March 31, 2022. A year had passed since the release of my book 'between dog and wolf'. After grinding his teeth a little, he understood the point… Love, resilience, and above all forgiveness”, writes Anouchka and Alain-Fabien’s brother. He goes on to explain that while he can't make up for the time he lost with his father, he can enjoy the time they have left. “We then decided to meet in Douchy, two Thursdays a month to 'establish this tradition' and to exchange, to leave a trace of us, a discussion, in a filmed document. He did not leave on a Thursday , but on a Sunday I was there 'Conversation between a father and his son' Today you would have been 89 years old.“, declares Anthony Delon.

Alain Delon did not want a national tribute and an intimate funeral took place in his house in Douchy. Although no image of the sad event has been revealed, some guests still recounted how the day unfolded. But on Monday, November 4, it was Anthony Delon who agreed to open up on the subject. Invited on the set of CNews, the son of the Cheetah explains having respected the wishes of the late actor. “We respected his wishes. There is no image. It was as he wanted.”he declares. “It went well. It happened as he wanted.”. He adds that Alain Delon had wanted “twenty people maximum” be present for his funeral. However, this desire was difficult “to hold” admits Anthony Delon. 45 people were present to pay a final tribute to the actor from La Piscine. The brother of Alain-Fabien and Anouchka says he “spoke, each of the children spoke”. Moreover, “Vincent Lindon read a very beautiful text”.
