They put stones and pieces of wood in his mouth: a 4-year-old victim of school bullying, his mother testifies

As soon as he returned to middle school in September 2023, Gabriel* experienced real hell from certain classmates. His mother testified on November 7, 2024.

The events took place in a public nursery school in the city of Bruges, near , reports Blue.

Pebbles and wood chips in the mouth

During the first days of school, little Gabriel*'s mother learned that another student was taking her son's glasses, making fun of him and slapping him.

The months pass and Gabriel “drops out of classes, “stays stuck, as if paralyzed at the blackboard” and no longer does his exercises, explains his mother to France Blue.

On the evening of January 31, she asked her son what was wrong at school: “And there, Gabriel explains to me that three boys are harassing him. Students from a large section because it’s a mixed class.” The three children “hold his jaw open while the third puts a stone in his mouth and they hit him regularly”, reports his mother in shock.

The school is alerted and the principal summons the three students who admit the facts, adding “that they also put wood shavings in Gabriel's mouth”, indicates the mother to France Blue.

“We’re friends, you don’t tell the adults”

A week later, the little 4-year-old boy explained to his mother that his harassers continued their misdeeds: “In the toilets, there is a certain student who tells me – I’m the boss, you have to put my penis in your mouth and vice versa”. The three children “told him – we’re friends, you don’t tell adults.”

Sexual assault is reported “to the inspector, the town hall, the school psychologist and the director of the establishment”. The Bordeaux rectorate has not, however, confirmed the facts but an anti-harassment protocol has been put in place for the little boy.

Faced with her worsening condition, her mother decides to change her class. Nothing helps, the three children continue to harass him. She then requested a change of school in May from the town hall and the academy inspector who refused it.

Upon learning of the traumatic toilet episode, an elected official even said to them: “Well then you know, they’re children, it’s discovery”, reports the mother. Remarks denied by the town hall of Bruges to France Blue. It was a letter from ALCHM, the Association for the fight against harassment and mistreatment based in Villenave d'Ornon, to the mayor which helped resolve the situation. The little one was able to change schools a few days after the start of the school year. His condition has greatly improved since then.
