The Spanish forward scored to make it 2-0 against Armenian side Noah during the third matchday of the Conference League.
Marc Guiu has found the net for the first time with Chelsea, putting an end to his goal drought at the start of the season. After his much-discussed departure from FC Barcelona, Guiu has struggled to make an impact in front of goal.
The striker from Granollers scored during the third round of the Conference League, in a game where Chelsea was already leading 4-0 by the 20th minute. The London side opened the scoring with a header from Tosin Adarabioyo. Following a goal kick, Marc Guiu capitalized on a pressing moment, intercepting a pass from Silva intended for Muradyan. The Spanish forward calmly slotted the ball into the net, doubling Chelsea’s lead.
In doing so, Guiu redeemed himself after a missed opportunity in the previous Conference match against Servette, where he squandered a clear chance in front of an open goal, facing heavy criticism in the Spanish football scene. Now, the former Barcelona youth player has overcome his first challenge at Stamford Bridge and boosted his confidence levels.
