Rome traffic block 10 November 2024: timetables and exceptions

November 10, 2024 is the traffic block in Rome for the implementation of the first of the five ecological Sundays planned for the 2024 – 2025 winter season. The initiative, as is known, provides for the entire Green Band of the Capital the total ban on circulation for private traffic during the times activation of the block. However, numerous are contemplated exceptions.

TRAFFIC BLOCK ROME 10 NOVEMBER 2024 IN THE GREEN BAND

Il traffic block in Rome on 10 November 2024 concerns circulation in the so-called Green Belt, i.e. the limited traffic area which includes a large part of the municipal territory within the Grande Raccordo Anulare.

For the benefit of residents and especially visitors, in order to avoid unpleasant fines, the Municipality of Rome has made available a navigable virtual mapreachable at this link, which allows you to find out if you are there inside or outside the Green Belt. To find out, just use the ‘find place or address’ option, at the top right of the map, indicated by a magnifying glass.

CAR BLOCK ROME 10 NOVEMBER 2024: TIMES OF THE DRIVING BAN

On the occasion of ecological Sunday in Rome of 10 November 2024, the total ban on circulation in the Green Belt for private traffic (with exceptions, see next paragraph) is expected at the following times:

  • from 7.30am to 12.30pm
  • from 4.30pm to 8.30pm.

After the one on November 10th, the next eco-friendly Sundays in Rome they will be held on 1 December 2024, 26 January 2025, 16 February 2025 and 23 March 2025.

ECOLOGICAL SUNDAY ROME 10 NOVEMBER 2024: DEROGATIONS TO THE DRIVING BAN

The exceptions to the driving ban on Sunday 10 November 2024 are listed in a special order of the Mayor of Rome (download here). In total there are 34 exemptions, here are the main ones:

  • electric or hybrid vehicles;
  • vehicles fueled by methane, LPG or Bi-Fuel petrol-LPG or petrol-methane, whether or not converted, running on LPG or methane and from Euro 3 and above;
  • vehicles with Euro 6 petrol engines;
  • 2-wheel mopeds with 4-stroke Euro 2 and later engines;
  • 4-stroke Euro 3 and later motorcycles;
  • vehicles for public and private collective transport;
  • taxis and NCCs equipped with municipal concessions;
  • vehicles used for car sharing, car pooling and Home-Work Travel Plan services;
  • car minute of the permit for people with disabilities:
  • vehicles used for the transport of people undergoing essential therapies or health treatments for serious illnesses.

10 NOVEMBER 2024: THE 15K IS RUN IN ROME

Il November 10, 2024the day of the first ecological Sunday of the season, in Rome we run the 15Ka running event on the double distance of 15 and 5 kilometers scheduled between 9:00 and the 11:30 of the morning. 4,000 athletes are expected with departure and arrival at Baths of Caracalla.

Il 15K route it will run between Porta Capena, via dei Cerchi, via del Circo Massimo, piazza Bocca della Verità, via Petroselli, via del Teatro Marcello, via del Foro Olitorio, via del Foro Olitorio, the Lungotevere, Ponte Cavour, via Vittoria Colonna, piazza Cavour , via Cicerone, via Marcantonio Colonna, via Lepanto, via Giuseppe Ferrari, piazza and viale Mazzini, Risorgimento bridge, piazza delle Belle Arti, the Lungotevere, the Ripetta underpass and promenade, piazza Augusto Imperatore, via di Ripetta, piazza del Popolo, via del Babuino, piazza di Spagna, via Due Macelli, via del Tritone, largo Chigi, via del Corso, via di Monte Brianzo, via Zanardelli, corso Rinascimento and corso Vittorio, via del Plebiscito, piazza Venezia, via dei Fori Imperiali, via of San Gregorio.

The bonus road closuresaround 7:00, will affect Viale delle Terme di Caracalla, then from 8:30 traffic stop extended to the other roads involved in the demonstration. Furthermore between 7.30 and 11.30 am they will be modified with deviations or limitations i routes of 45 bus linesnamely H, 3Nav, 8 and 19bus, 23, 30, 34, 40, 44, 46, 49, 51, 52, 53, 60, 62, 63, 64, 70, 71, 75, 80, 81, 83, 85, 87, 89, 98, 115, 170, 190F, 280, 490, 492, 495, 590, 715, 716, 781, 870, 881, 913, 916F, 990 and C3. Instead, lines 118, 160 and 628 will be diverted from 6.30am to 1.30pm, while lines 40 (8.00am-11.30am), 51, 64 and 70 (7.30am-11.30am) will be completely suspended.
