IShowSpeed narrowly loses $100k bet in race with world’s fastest man Noah Lyles – and now faces even more embarrassing forfeit

IShowSpeed came agonizingly close to beating the world’s fastest man in a 50m race.

The popular entertainer, who has filmed content with the likes of Logan Paul, Manny Pacquiao and Paul Pogba, hosted Olympic 100m champion Noah Lyles on a recent livestream.

The pair went head to head on the track with the winner set to receive $100k from YouTuber MrBeast.

The gun went off and IShowSpeed actually got off to the better start, leading the six-time world champion early in the race.

Lyles then put on the afterburners and the pair were neck and neck with about 25m to go.

The American track and field star’s raw pace showed in the end and he crossed the line several meters in front of the streamer.

Speed initially claimed that the race was a tie, but it was more hopeful than anything. Different angles clearly showed that the 100m and 200m specialist crossed the finish line first.

Speed then admitted that Lyles ‘barely won’ before the runner pledged to donate the $100k wager to charity.

However, the YouTuber will face another forfeit following the defeat. He will also have to change his username on a platform of his choice to ‘IShowSlow’ for 24 hours.

Nevertheless, it was an incredibly valiant effort from Speed, who hung with the fastest man in the world for a significant portion of the sprint.

Social media users were stunned by how close the race was, calling it a massive ‘flex’ from Speed.

“Keeping up with the fastest man alive is such a flex,” one fan posted on X.

“He actually put up a good fight,” another added.

“It really took an Olympic athlete to beat speed, that just shows how fast he is man,” a third said.

“Speed keeping up with him is wild,” a fourth wrote.

Lyles won 100m gold in earlier this year and finished third in the 200m after battling COVID.

In recent months he has gone back and forth with explosive NFL wide receiver Tyreek Hill over a potential race.

The Miami Dolphins wideout is widely recognized as the quickest man in football, and goes by the nickname ‘Cheetah’ because of it.

During an appearance on Up & Adams, Super Bowl LIV champion Hill confidently told host Kay Adams, “I would beat Noah Lyles.”

When Adams asked how close the race might be, Hill said, “I wouldn’t beat him by a lot.”

“But I would beat Noah Lyles,” Hill continued. “And guess what? When I beat him, I’m going to put on a COVID mask and let him know I mean business.”

In a more recent chat with Stan Verrett on SportsCenter, Team USA sprinter Lyles addressed his beef with Hill and revealed how a race between the pair could be on the horizon.

“Look man, you got to be serious,” Lyles said.

“Everyone want to jump up to the top…everybody wants to race the fastest man. I didn’t grab this title because it’s easy or I went the easy route.“

Lyles confirmed he was in talks with Hill about a race but only under one condition – the wide receiver has to get past several other competitors first before getting the chance to race the Olympic champ.

The 27-year-old also insisted it wouldn’t be a 100m race, but admitted he could see them having a 60m indoor race since he knew Hill had attempted that before.

“We’re in talks, we’re in talks,” he added.
