MPF Establishes Procedures to Monitor Amendments Via PIX Destined to Querência and Chapada dos Guimarães | Interactive News – News from Vale do Araguaia and Region

QUERENCE – The Federal Public Ministry (MPF) established, this Tuesday (5), procedures to monitor the application of parliamentary amendments sent via PIX to the municipalities of Querência and Chapada dos Guimarães. The initiative, led by Public Prosecutor Erich Raphael Masson, aims to ensure transparency and prevent possible deviations in the use of resources. Senator Jayme Campos (União) allocated R$350,000 to Querência, while federal deputy Coronel Fernanda (PL) sent R$1.4 million to Chapada dos Guimarães.

These special transfers, established by Constitutional Amendment No. 105/2019 and known as “PIX amendments”, enable the direct allocation of funds to federated entities without the need for formal agreements. However, the lack of specific regulation limits traditional inspection tools, which worries the MPF. In response, procedures were put in place to monitor the execution and application of resources, seeking to avoid inappropriate use of the allocated amounts.

According to deputy Coronel Fernanda, the amount sent to Chapada dos Guimarães is directed to meet local needs resulting from damage caused by landslides in the Portão do Inferno region, a situation that negatively impacted municipal revenue. She highlighted that all of her amendments follow legal criteria, supported by requests from municipal and state administrations, and stated that she supports inspection to ensure that the resources serve the public interest.

The MPF asked the managers of Querência and Chapada dos Guimarães for detailed information about the benefited accounts and the specific allocation of resources, reinforcing the commitment to transparency and the prevention of possible acts of corruption.
