Man City ready to splash €150m for Arsenal target Rodrygo

As per Spanish publication Fichajes, Manchester City are now willing to fork out as much as €150 million for Arsenal-linked superstar Rodrygo Goes next summer.

The Real Madrid attacker is an important figure in Carlo Ancelotti’s plans, and it is difficult to see him leave the Santiago Bernabeu in less than 12 months time.

However, sources have claimed that the Brazilian is unhappy with his status at the club and that his entourage is open to new offers. Arsenal have been linked with the player for the past few months, with rumours stating that Mikel Arteta views him as a marquee signing who can drastically improve his team’s attacking output.

But they are not alone with this race, with reigning English champions Man City also entering the fray. The Blues are reportedly willing to pay an astronomical club-record fee to sign the 23-year-old in 2025.

They are already dealing with some major issues behind closed doors due to a number of key personalities moving towards the end of their contract.

Manager Pep Guardiola’s future remains uncertain, and renowned superstars like Erling Haaland and Kevin de Bruyne have been linked with a move to another foreign club. Hence, they could target Rodrygo if they bid farewell to at least two important first-team players next summer.

The Citizens won’t be alone in this race. Madrid are not at all looking to offload the Brazilian star at the moment, but even a slight positive sign can invite huge attention from other elite clubs.

Arsenal are also showing interest since they needed a backup for Bukayo Saka. The star winger has struggled with fatigue due to increased work load in this campaign.

Rodrygo could prove to be a game-changing player for the Gunners. His versatility, ability to score goals against the big clubs, and lethal finishing skills will instantly upgrade their attack to another level. Liverpool are also well-placed in this high-octane transfer race.
