The Houston Rockets and the San Antonio Spurs will meet for the third time in two weeks on Wednesday at the Toyota Center. The Rockets are fresh off an impressive 109-97 victory over the reloaded New York Knicks on November 4. Alperen Seguin proved why he’s the future of the Rockets franchise after stuffing the stats sheet with 25 points, 14 rebounds, and 5 assists. Veteran playmaker Fred VanVleet contributed 19 points on 8-for-14 shooting, and Jalen Green added 15 for Houston, who improved to 4-3. The Spurs saw their winning streak come to an end after coughing a 40-14 first-quarter lead in a 113-104 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers last November 4. Victor Wembanyama tallied 24 points and 13 assists, while Chris Paul posted another double-double with 14 points and 10 assists. Despite taking a commanding lead at the end of the first quarter, San Antonio could not sustain their strong start and appeared stunned during the Clippers’ furious rally in the second quarter. The Spurs are expected to miss head coach Gregg Popovich, who is out indefinitely because of a significant health problem.
